What is Active Voice? (Active Voice = Subject Does the Action)

In Active Voice, the subject (doer) performs the action. It places the main focus directly on the person or thing doing the work.

Formula: Subject + Verb + Object
• Ravi (Subject / Doer) + eats (Verb) + an apple (Object / Receiver).
• "Ravi apple खाता है।" (Ravi खुद action कर रहा है)
3 Simple Steps to Build Any Active Sentence
Step 1 — Find the Subject:

Ask: Who is doing the action?

👉 Ravi

Step 2 — Choose the Verb:

Match with tense (V1, V2, V-ing, will+V1)

👉 bought (Past V2)

Step 3 — Add the Object:

Ask: What receives the action?

👉 a laptop

1. Active + Modals (V1)

• "I can speak English."

• "You should study daily."

• "We must follow rules."

2. Active + Have to

• "I have to complete my work."

• "She has to submit the report."

3. Active + Used to

• "I used to play cricket."

• "He used to live in Delhi."

Active vs. Passive Voice (Focus Difference)
Active Voice (Focus on DOER):
• "Ravi writes a letter."
(Ravi does the writing)
Passive Voice (Focus on OBJECT):
• "A letter is written by Ravi."
(The letter receives the action)
